A Mitchell women died Wednesday after being involved in a car accident the evening of Dec. 16.
Linda Dawes, 90, was flown to Avera McKennan Hospital with life-threatening injuries after being involved a traffic accident while traveling with her husband, Charles, near the intersection of Betts Road and Highway 41 southwest of Mitchell.
She died five days later at Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
The couple’s vehicle was T-boned by a Chevrolet van driven by Mike Baker, 25, of Mitchell.
Baker was less seriously injured and taken to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital and later released.
No citations were issued at the time of the accident. Charges of failure to stop for Charles Dawes and speeding for Baker are pending, the Highway Patrol said Friday.
Charles Dawes was also flown to Avera McKennan Hospital after the accident for life-threatening injuries but was discharged Wednesday.
