That which keeps Christmas the most beloved of all our holidays is the fact that it involves so much of giving.

To be sure, the practice is at times overdone or under-done. Sometimes, the interest in what one gets overshadows his appreciation of the spirit that should prompt the gifts.

But with all these human shortcomings in the observance of the day, the Christmas season does cause a great deal of thinking of others, planning for others, endeavoring to make others happy.

Just because the joy of giving so far exceeds the pleasure of receiving, Christmas is a happy time for all.

Why should not the Christmas spirit be carried on through the whole year?
