PIERRE (AP) — A former state government employee has been tapped to lead the South Dakota State Employees Organization.
The media reports that Eric Ollila will be the new executive director of the Pierre-based organization that represents state government employees.
He replaces Corey Landeen, who resigned this fall after his wife took a job in another state.
Ollila has a journalism and publishing background.
He served as publication coordinator-editor for the AgBio Communications Unit at South Dakota State University's College of Agriculture and Biological Sciences until he was laid off in June because of budget cuts.
Ollila will serve as the association's chief lobbyist during the legislative session and plans to also expand the group's outreach.
