Fire damages van in Lake Andes Saturday

LAKE ANDES — A vehicle fire occurred near Andes Central School Saturday. The Lake Andes Fire Department and the Charles Mix Sheriff’s Department responded to the fire at 5:28 p.m.

LAKE ANDES — A vehicle fire occurred near Andes Central School Saturday.

The Lake Andes Fire Department and the Charles Mix Sheriff’s Department responded to the fire at 5:28 p.m.

An independent contractor’s van caught on fire after he tried to start it, said sheriff’s deputy Dawn Lake. It appeared to be an electrical malfunction, she said.

The van was a total loss, but no one was injured. There was no damage to the school.
