Trial date set; man accused of killing infant son

TYNDALL — A trial date has been set for a Scotland man accused of killing his infant son in March.

TYNDALL — A trial date has been set for a Scotland man accused of killing his infant son in March.

Chris Miller, 37, is accused of causing his son Jacob’s death by shaking and beating the child. Jacob was 4 months old.

The court and attorneys scheduled the trial for 10 business days to begin May 14 during a hearing Wednesday.

It is scheduled to be held at the Bon Homme County Courthouse in Tyndall.

A status hearing has been slated in January.

Miller faces several charges, including first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, aggravated assault against a child and being a habitual offender.

He attended the hearing Wednesday and is still being held at the Yankton County Jail on $700,000 bail.
