RAPID CITY (AP) — The Department of Veterans Affairs has proposed closing the VA medical center in Hot Springs.
The media reports that the plan was announced Monday by the agency.
VA officials say the move is aimed at providing better services for veterans by transferring services to private providers and other VA facilities in Rapid City and Sturgis.
Hot Springs Mayor Don DeVries says such a closure would be a blow to veterans and the community.
