RAPID CITY (AP) — More rock is being blasted away at the Crazy Horse Memorial in South Dakota.

Crazy Horse mountain carvers have scheduled a 500-ton blast between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Visitors to the memorial last week saw a 600-ton blast in an area 340 feet below the top of the carved Crazy Horse face.

Despite winter cold and snow, Crazy Horse Memorial President Ruth Ziolkowski says carvers are planning nearly weekly blasts.

People can watch the blast on the Crazy Horse Memorial website at crazyhorsememorial.org.
