A Mitchell woman was arrested Sunday for neglecting the care of her children.

Savannah One Horn, 24, apparently consumed 12 beers in the early morning hours on Sunday and passed out on her living room floor.

She had her three children, all younger than 3, living with her, who were left unattended while she was passed out.

According to court documents, the infant was crying on the couch because it was hungry and the two older children made a mess in the kitchen. They pulled items from the refrigerator and cupboards.

The older kids then opened the back door of the apartment and left without wearing shoes. They were found wandering in the middle of North Wisconsin Street. Both were dirty and covered in food.

One Horn is charged with felony child abuse or neglect, which carries a maximum of 15 years in prison, a $30,000 fine or both.

One Horn signed an agreement to participate in the 24/7 Sobriety program.
