The victim is offering an additional $1,000 reward to a Mitchell Area Crime Stoppers award of $250 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects involved.

On Sunday, a white male suspect apparently drove up to a pickup truck around 3 p.m. on a 4-wheel ATV near the intersection of 401st Avenue and 254th Street. The suspect approached the pickup from the west via nearby railroad tracks.

The suspect stole a large, dead, 5-point whitetail deer from the back of the pickup and drove north on 401st Avenue with the deer on the 4-wheeler. He turned east after approximately three-quarters of a mile.

The suspect is described as a white male standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and wearing camouflage. He also carried a non-scoped long gun.

It is believed the suspect was driving the railroad tracks and may have been hunting the area prior to the theft.
