Mitchell woman in custody in stabbing case

A 43-year-old Mitchell woman was arrested Monday by Mitchell police for one count of domestic aggravated assault after a stabbing incident.

A 43-year-old Mitchell woman was arrested Monday by Mitchell police for one count of domestic aggravated assault after a stabbing incident.

Angelia Rochelle Leclaire allegedly stabbed a 41-year-old male subject with a knife at her apartment at 400 W. Fifth Ave.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in the hip area Monday night around 8:15.

He was transported to Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, treated and later released.

Aggravated assault is a Class 3 felony, punishable by up to 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
