Garbage truck crashes into Spearfish house; no one hurt

SPEARFISH (AP) — No one was hurt when a garbage truck crashed into a house in the western South Dakota city of Spearfish, but the crash left the family without electricity on Thanksgiving.

SPEARFISH (AP) — No one was hurt when a garbage truck crashed into a house in the western South Dakota city of Spearfish, but the crash left the family without electricity on Thanksgiving.

The Black Hills Pioneer reports that homeowners Greg and Loretta Egert weren't home at the time of the Wednesday morning crash.

Greg Egert says the driver of the garbage truck had set the brake and put wheel chocks under the tires, but the brakes failed and the truck jumped the chocks and rolled downhill into his house.
