Salvation Army's bell-ringing starts for charity

Christmas is fast approaching and The Salvation Army has begun its bell-ringing campaign.
The money raised in the red kettles during the Christmas bell-ringing season accounts for approximately 35 percent of the Salvation Army’s Christmas fundraising goal. The money goes toward helping people in the Mitchell and Davison County area year-round.
Volunteers are needed to ring bells. A bell ringer agrees to stand at the Salvation Army’s kettle for a couple of hours, ringing a bell and greeting people as they enter and exit the store.
To volunteer, go to MyVolunteerPage.com or call the Salvation Army at 996-3964. This year, bell-ringing will take place at the following stores: Coborn’s, County Fair, Shopko, Kmart, Walgreens, Walmart and Cabela’s.
Bells will ring every day until Christmas Eve, except Sundays.
