Heavy weekend snowfall set records in Pierre

The National Weather Service says 9.5 inches of snow fell in Pierre on Saturday, breaking the Nov. 19 record for the city of 2.7 inches set in 1947. The water equivalent of 0.57 inches broke the record of 0.20 inches set in 1985.
The National Weather Service says the 9.5 inches also was the greatest one-day snowfall in November in city history. The previous mark was 8 inches on Nov. 25, 2001, and Nov. 9, 1998.
