Tri-Valley edges McCook Central/Montrose in Class 11B title game

Tri-Valley beat McCook Central/Montrose 18-14 in the Class 11B state football championship game.

After being down 12-0 at halftime, McCook Central/Montrose battled back to take a 14-12 lead late in the fourth quarter.

But a blocked punt gave Tri-Valley good field position. Mustangs quarterback Brett Page hit Andrew Buchman for a five-yard touchdown to give Tri-Valley an 18-14 lead with 1 minutes, 32 seconds left in the game.

McCook Central/Montrose turned the ball over on downs to guarantee Tri-Valley's victory.
