Area volleyball roundup: White Lake claims District 10B title

KIMBALL — The White Lake High School volleyball team claimed the District 10B championship Friday night with a sweep of Kimball.

White Lake won in set scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-23.

White Lake’s Stephanie Ness finished with 10 kills and Maria Nightingale had eight kills, two aces and 10 blocks.

Alli Haines had 22 assists and Allison Reuland had two aces and four digs.

Kimball, which finished its season 12-13, was led by Kelcey Long, who finished with 18 kills and two blocks.

Anna Pazour had 12 digs and an ace, Anne Knippling had one ace, 11 kills and 10 digs and Mary Kroupa had 29 assists.

White Lake (26-1) plays James Valley Christian for the Region 5B championship at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Vernon.

Parker 3, Freeman 0

FREEMAN — Anna Leloux had 10 kills and Amber Dystine had 30 assists to lead Parker to a 25-15, 25-14, 25-14 win over Freeman in the District 7B championship Friday.

Lauren Hinckley had 10 kills and Kaitlyn Stern added seven kills and two aces for Freeman. Grace Gering recorded 22 assists for the Flyers.

Parker hosts Alcester-Hudson in the Region 4B title match Tuesday.

James Valley Christian 3,

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 2

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Jaclyn Loban had 10 kills and Tara Nihart recorded 14 assists as James Valley Christian took down Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 25-18, 25-18, 20-25, 25-17 in the District 9B championship high school volleyball match Friday night.

Morgan Larson had five aces and Morgan Selland had seven kills to pace Sanborn Central/Woonsocket. Kaisha Swenson added five kills and Candace Page-Marten had 11 assists for the Blackhawks.

JVC plays White Lake in the Region 5B championship at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Vernon.
