A brief power outage Tuesday affected areas in southeast Mitchell, a NorthWestern Energy spokesman said.
Area Manager Craig Fergen said power went out around 5:47 p.m. in areas along East Havens Avenue, South Burr and Kay streets. Work crews had power restored at 6:15 p.m.
Power “blinked” briefly after it was restored, Fergen said, “and that means there’s still a problem out there.” Crews will continue to work until the problem area is located, he said.
When it gets colder, rodents seeking warmth often create problems when they burrow under transformer boxes, Fergen said.
The outages briefly affected areas near such businesses as Perkins, Kmart, Campbell’s Supply and Pizza Ranch, Fergen said.
