Mitchell police are investigating an incident that left a 27-year-old man with a stab wound to his hand Thursday morning.

Detective Lt. Don Everson said police responded to a disturbance on the 700 block of South Edmunds Street around 3 a.m. Officers found the man suffered the stab wound during an altercation. The man has been treated and released. Shortly after that incident, officers responded to an assault at a neighboring residence. Rocky Clark, 30, was arrested for simple assault after allegedly punching a 22-year-old woman in the face. The woman suffered minor injuries, Everson said. Everson said some people police interviewed were at both residences.
