Former Watertown bar owner sentenced for tax evasion
SIOUX FALLS (AP) — The former owner of a Watertown bar has been sentenced to 10 months in prison and fined $30,000 for tax evasion.
SIOUX FALLS (AP) — The former owner of a Watertown bar has been sentenced to 10 months in prison and fined $30,000 for tax evasion.
U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says 60-year-old Timothy Engels also must serve three years on supervised release and pay more than $362,000 in restitution, unpaid taxes, penalties and interest.
Engels was indicted by a federal grand jury in January on several fraud-related charges and pleaded guilty to the tax evasion count in June.
