Tickets to be sold Saturday for MHS playoff contest

Tickets for the Mitchell High School football teams’ first-round playoff game may be pre-purchased at the MHS/Dakota Wesleyan volleyball doubleheader Saturday at MHS or at parent-teacher conferences Monday at MHS.
The Kernels host Aberdeen Central in a first-round game of the Class 11AA playoffs at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Joe Quintal Field.
Doors will open for the game at 5:30 p.m. and tickets may be purchased pregame as well. The game is a South Dakota High School Activities Association postseason event, therefore, no passes will be accepted for entrance to the game. Everyone must purchase a ticket.
Mitchell activities meeting set Monday

The Mitchell High School winter activities meeting is scheduled for Monday at MHS.
In lieu of conducting a formal meeting, MHS Activities Director Geoff Gross will be present in the north lobby of MHS to answer any questions from parents or athletes.
Schedules and physical/code of conduct forms will be available.
Hubbard signs with Wesleyan

Sterling Hubbard signed a letter of intent to play with the Dakota Wesleyan University starting next season, it was announced Friday.
Hubbard is a midfielder/defender from Jamestown, N.D., where he was a first-team all-state pick as a senior.
MV volleyball to host ‘Dig Pink’ night

The Mount Vernon High School volleyball team will host a “Dig Pink” night to support breast cancer awareness Monday.
The Fillies host White Lake in a volleyball match at 7:30 p.m. and there will be a raffle for baked goods and a silent auction for donated items starting at 5 p.m.
It also will be Senior Night for Mount Vernon.
All money made will be donated to the Mitchell-based You’ll Never Walk Alone breast cancer foundation.
