FLANDREAU — Platte-Geddes/Dakota Christian upset Flandreau, the fourth-ranked team in Class 11B, 39-36 Thursday in a high school football game.
PGDC took the lead with 2 minutes, 1 second left in the game when quarterback Cody Wagner hit Dillon Werkmeister for a 71-yard touchdown pass to put the Black Panthers up for good.
Flandreau did return the kick to the 45-yard line, but an intentional grounding penalty on third down made it fourth-and-22, which it was unable to convert.
On offense, PGDC rushed for 202 yards and Wagner threw for 188 yards on 6-of-13 passing with two touchdowns and a rushing touchdown.
Werkmeister finished with 100 yards receiving and a touchdown on three catches, and he rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.
Jon Hoeksema had 131 yards rushing and a touchdown on 14 carries.
Werkmeister also had 8.5 tackles and Ty Wilkins had 7.5 tackles as PGDC improved to 5-3 and will host a first-round playoff game Tuesday with the opponent yet to be determined.

ELK POINT — Bon Homme won its first football game of the year in a 30-12 victory over Elk Point-Jefferson Thursday.
Bon Homme improved to 1-7 and was led by quarterback Dakota Bodden, who passed for 141 yards and two touchdowns. He hit Sawyer Fridrich for a 52-yard touchdown and Ross Kortan for a 30-yard touchdown.
Charlie Bentzen had 12 tackles for Bon Homme’s defense and Ezra Bartlett and Jordan Radack both had a sack. Scott Wieseler and Hunter Young both had an interception.
Bon Homme missed the playoffs and its season ended with the win.

LAKE ANDES — The South Central High School football team scored three third-quarter touchdowns en route to an 18-0 win over Andes Central Thursday.
South Central’s Garrett Bruns scored on a 21-yard run to put his team on the board and Turner Serr added a 5-yard touchdown later for a 12-0 lead. South Central quarterback Brian Juran hit Christian Schweigert to end the game’s scoring.
Serr had 28 rushes for 136 yards and one touchdown to lead South Central, which finished the season 5-3. He and Sam Hazen each had six tackles.
Juran was 2-of-6 passing for 27 yards and one touchdown and the team finished with 245 rushing yards.
Andes Central (5-3) was led by Connor Florey, who had 11 carries for 59 yards. The Eagles had 118 team rushing yards.
Florey had a game-high 21 tackles and Alex Evans had 15 tackles.

PLANKINTON — Warner rushed for 286 yards in a 58-8 win over Plankinton Thursday night.
Warner (6-2) was led by Mitchell Boesel, who had 13 carries for 127 yards and a second-quarter touchdown.
Plankinton, which failed to make the playoffs, had 49 rushing yards, 45 of which came from Tom Harris. Harris had Plankinton’s only touchdown, a 1-yard run in the first quarter.
Plankinton quarterback Kellam Karst was 7-for-18 for 147 yards and Garrett Lawson had a team-high 10 tackles.
Plankinton finished the season 3-5.

Lukes finished with 89 yards on the ground and Brady Bonte had 19 carries for 113 yards. Bonte also had a team-high eight tackles and a third-quarter touchdown.
Garretson quarterback Dustin Steckler threw for 71 yards.
Parkston’s Jesse Thuringer had 39 rushing yards and quarterback Zach Scott was 2-of-8 for 15 yards. Parkston’s Austin Bertram had a sack and Tanner Weber, Austin Wolf and Kyle Hohn each had seven tackles.
Parkston finished the regular season 3-5.

Lyman’s Jaylen Uthe had 17 carries for 77 yards and Jaelani Uthe was 2-of-7 passing for 30 yards. The Raiders were led defensively by Ryder Schweitzer, who had 13 tackles.
Wall’s Taran Eisenbraun had five rushes for 95 yards and Chavis Chull had 17 carries for 90 yards.

Terrance Kinzer had nine rushes for 35 yards and Chris Hofeldt had a team-high 16 tackles and an 18-yard touchdown reception from Kinzer.
No stats or scoring was available for White River.
Colome (5-3) qualified for the playoffs, which start Tuesday.

FREEMAN — Canistota had 258 yards rushing and 187 yards passing in its 50-0 win over Freeman Thursday night.
For Canistota, Troy Hofer had seven carries for 75 yards, Cody Bunger had six carries for 91 yards and Alex Robertson had seven carries for 67 yards. Bunger was 6-of-9 passing for 187 yards.
Defensively for the Hawks, Isaac Fuhrman and Jason VanWinkle each had eight tackles.
Defensively for the Flyers, Arron Lickteig had seven tackles and Mitchell Kleinsasser had five tackles.

Lee Sivertson rushed for 267 yards on 10 carries for Miller and Seth Rombaugh had 102 yards rushing on 10 carries. Sivertson also passed for 113 yards.
Benson Kleinschmidt rushed for 109 yards on 22 carries.
