SDSU professor, on quest to master Beethoven sonatas, performing today
BROOKINGS (AP) — A South Dakota State University professor who is on a quest to master Beethoven's 32 sonatas will present another recital in his ongoing series.
BROOKINGS (AP) — A South Dakota State University professor who is on a quest to master Beethoven's 32 sonatas will present another recital in his ongoing series.
Professor John Walker will perform Sonata No. 5, 6 and 28 at a recital Monday at SDSU's Performing Arts Center. The recital is free and open to the public.
Walker's quest to master Beethoven's 32 sonatas began in March 2008. Since then, he has given two recitals a year. After Monday's performance, Walker plans three more.
Walker is a professor of music at SDSU and received the College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Performer Award for 2010-2011.
