To the Editor:

Hats off to President Mike Hale and members of the Outkast Car Club of Mitchell for hosting an awesome event for all ages Sept. 25-27.

Main Street was hopping Saturday as car after car was paraded through town and put on display for spectators to look at, mostly in awe of how much time and elbow grease goes into making all the beautiful cars.

This was the seventh year our family has enjoyed this so much. Hope for many more to come.

It is a great time for families to bring the kids out to look at the cars and dance your socks off Saturday night at the Corn Palace to Robby Vee. I grew up on 50s and 60s music and so have my 12- and 4-year-old daughters, so we always have a blast complete in ’50s outfits from thrift stores and Einstein’s Costume Shop.

Besides the fun, the car show brings a lot of business to Mitchell restaurants, motels, grocery stores and various tourist attractions.

I just wanted to say I appreciate the car club encouraging and providing this family activity.

I can’t wait until next year.
