Wednesday’s high temperature of 93 degrees in Mitchell tied the record for that day.

According to the National Weather Service, a high of 93 degrees was also set in 1897.

Today’s forecast calls for more sun, but it will be cooler and breezy, with a high around 69 degrees, the NWS said.
