Kernels beat Sioux Falls Lincoln, fall to Yankton

YANKTON — The Mitchell girls’ tennis team spilt a pair of matches Tuesday afternoon in Yankton.

Mitchell lost to Yankton 6-3 but rebounded with a win over Sioux Falls Lincoln 5-4.

Mitchell’s No. 3 Kendra Cersosimo won both of her individual matches on the day. She defeated her Yankton opponent 10-1 and her Sioux Falls Lincoln opponent 10-3.

The Kernels’ Kayla White got a win at No. 4 in individual play and Amanda Hegg (No. 1) and Courtney Wells (No. 2) got individual wins against Lincoln.

The Kernels moved to 6-7 on the season and 3-5 against Eastern South Dakota Conference opponents.
