1 dies when motorcycle, car collide on overpass at Summit

SUMMIT (AP) — South Dakota authorities say a Northfield, Minn., man died when his motorcycle collided with a car near Summit on Sunday.

The Highway Patrol says 36-year-old Joshua Gillen died at the scene after his motorcycle collided head-on with a car driven by 76-year-old Willis Kruse of Columbia, S.D.

Authorities say Kruse was traveling west in the eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 12 after turning off on Interstate 29. Gillen was eastbound when the accident happened on the I-29 overpass.

The patrol says Kruse and a passenger, 73-year-old Darlys Kruse, were taken to a Webster hospital with minor injuries.

No further information was available.
