Fort Thompson man admits he failed to register as a sex offender

A Fort Thompson man pleaded guilty Wednesday to failing to register as a sex offender.
David George Flute III, 21, appeared before U.S. District Judge Roberto Lange. The maximum penalty for the violation is 10 years in prison.
Flute was previously convicted as a sex offender, requiring him to register. He signed paperwork acknowledging this. However, he failed to register in May.
Lange ordered a presentence investigation and set sentencing for November.
Flute remains in the custody of the U.S. marshal.
