Bush Foundation hires staffer in Rapid City

RAPID CITY (AP) — A foundation created by 3M executive Archibald Bush is expanding its presence in North and South Dakota.

Elli Wicks Haerter has been hired to work from Rapid City as liaison.

South Dakota groups have received nearly $63 million since 1974, including $3.9 million in grants in 2009 to help University of South Dakota student teachers get classroom experience.

The foundation in a statement says its mission is to be a catalyst for the courageous leadership necessary to create sustainable solutions to tough public problems and ensure community vitality.
