Mitchell, S.D., woman ingests air-duster cleaner in Wal-mart, collapses

A Mitchell woman was arrested for ingesting a substance other than alcohol.

A Mitchell woman was arrested for ingesting a substance other than alcohol.

Melissa Livingston, 32, was found semi-conscious in Walmart on Aug. 15 with a can of air-duster keyboard cleaner next to her.

Two store employees saw Livingston put the nozzle of the air-duster in her mouth and inhale, huffing the product. The employees attempted to take the can from Livingston and then call medics. Livingston attempted to flee the store but collapsed before reaching the exit.

Livingston is also being charged with shoplifting, petty theft of less than $400. Both offenses are misdemeanors.
