Mitchell Area Crime Stoppers is looking for suspects connected to the theft of several fishing items stolen from the 300 block of South Mentzer Street. Between Aug. 10 and Sunday, an unknown party or parties stole several fishing rods, reels, tackle and line from a parked boat on South Mentzer. The equipment is valued at $3,800. The items include five US Reels brand reels, one Quantum Accurist reel, four Shimano Curado reels black and green in color, three Skeet Reese yellow fishing rods, one Carrot Stick orange colored rod, two Mag Touch black rods, three Cabela’s brand black rods, one Fenwick brand brown rod, 12 fishing lures and some fishing line. Anyone with information related to the crime is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 996-1700. Calls can be made anonymously and there is a minimum cash reward of $250 if information leads to the arrest of subjects involved. Tips can also be texted to 274637 with “MITCS” plus a message.
