Waubay woman admits to assaulting officer in jail

A Waubay woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to assaulting an officer while incarcerated at the Davison County Jail.

A Waubay woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to assaulting an officer while incarcerated at the Davison County Jail.

Ashley Iron Star, 25, was being held in the jail for detoxification on May 8, 2010. Iron Star admitted to spitting on Officer Aaron Nash, which is a Class 6 felony and is punishable by two years in the state penitentiary, a $4,000 fine or both.

Judge Sean O’Brien ordered a presentence investigation to be presented Oct. 4.
