Democrat Jeff Barth announces candidacy for Congress
SIOUX FALLS - Minnehaha County Commissioner Jeff Barth will be announcing his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives this week.
SIOUX FALLS - Minnehaha County Commissioner Jeff Barth, a Democrat, will be announcing his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives this week.
If he becomes his party's nominee, Barth would run against first-term Rep. Kristi Noem, R-S.D., in the November 2012 general election.
Official announcement events will be held across the state. The public and press are invited to attend the events.
*Sioux Falls at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at the Sioux Falls Main Library, 200 N. Dakota Ave.
*Rapid City at 3:30: p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24 at the Rapid City Labor Temple, 922 E. St. Patrick St.
*Brookings from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25 at the Annual County Democratic Picnic, Brookings County Extension Building.
*Vermillion at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26 at the Vermillion Public Library, 18 Church St.
