BELVIDERE (AP) — Severe storms Wednesday night dropped hail the size of baseballs on Interstate 90 in south central South Dakota.
National Weather Service meteorologist Matthew Bunkers tells the media that some of the hail might have been even larger. Several vehicles had to stop near the town of Belvidere because their windshields had been smashed.
The weather service says another storm farther south in Mellette County had hail large enough to punch holes in a building's roof.
