Children’s choir looking for singers

Mitchell Area Children’s Choir will be formed of singers in grades three through eight and is affiliated with Dakota Wesleyan University. Children from Mitchell and the surrounding area are invited to audition on Thursday, Sept. 1, at Smith Hall, DWU Campus, Mitchell.
The choir will be directed by Erin Desmond, music teacher at Ethan School.
Tuition is $225 per year and fee includes a polo shirt, approximately 30 music lessons and two tickets to each concert scheduled for September, December and April. Families with more that one child enrolled qualify for a 10 percent discount for other siblings. Tuition will also go toward purchasing music. Tuition can be paid in full or on a payment plan. Financial assistance is available.
The choir will rehearse on Thursday nights from 7 to 8 p.m. at Smith Hall, and will begin on Thursday, Sept. 8. Rehearsals will only be on Thursday evenings unless there is a dress rehearsal for a concert.
