Missouri man first Sturgis rally fatality after motorcycle crash

STURGIS (AP) — The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a Missouri man who crashed his motorcycle near Deadwood is this year's first Sturgis Motorcycle Rally-related fatality.

STURGIS (AP) — The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a Missouri man who crashed his motorcycle near Deadwood is this year's first Sturgis Motorcycle Rally-related fatality.

KBHB radio reports that 70-year-old Peter Diangi of Sunrise Beach was thrown from his motorcycle as it slid into a ditch on Tuesday. Troopers say Diangi was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control on a downhill curve.

He was taken to a Deadwood hospital where he was pronounced dead.
