‘Pint for a Pound’ blood drive planned Tuesday-Thursday in Mitchell

United Blood Services is holding a “Pint for a Pound” blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9-11, at the Highland Mall, Mitchell.

United Blood Services is holding a “Pint for a Pound” blood drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9-11, at the Highland Mall, Mitchell.

For every pint of blood donated, County Fair will donate a pound of food, Coca-Cola a six-pack of Coke and Walgreens a pint of ice cream to the Mitchell Food Pantry and Salvation Army. In addition, Bankwest will also donate $5 to United Way for every pint collected in Mitchell during this drive.

The goal is 80 pints of blood and some local media celebrities will shave heads or dye hair when the goal is reached.
