PIERRE (AP) — Gov. Dennis Daugaard will help Yankton-based Dakota Trailer Manufacturing, Inc., celebrate its expansion and hiring of 60 new workers by taking part in a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday.

The governor is expected to tour the expanded facility at 1 p.m. and make comments about the growing company.

Dakota Trailer, which manufactures aluminum and steel trailers, has grown from an eight-person operation to more than 140 employees.

A news release says the company expects to hire more workers in the near future.

Dakota Trailer started as Hawkeye Eagle Grain Trailers in Yankton in 1968. The company was renamed to Dakota Trailers Manufacturing in 2005.
