Area elections today in Wessington Springs, Herrick and Bonesteel

Two area schools and one city will hold elections today. All polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Two area schools and one city will hold elections today. All polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

* Wessington Springs School District: Three people are running for two three-year terms on the Wessington Springs School Board. Incumbent Linda Willman, along with Julie Kaus and Todd Grohs, are vying for the seats. Polling places will be at the 4-H building in Wessington Springs and the Buffalo County Courthouse in Gann Valley.

* South Central School District: Four candidates are vying for two vacant seats on the South Central School Board, based in Bonesteel. Each term is three years. Incumbents Jason Johns and Kaylene Marts are running for re-election and are opposed by Susan Ziebro and Kathy Divine. Voters can cast ballots at the school.

* Herrick city: Two people are running for one seat on the Herrick Board of Trustees. Current President of the Board Don Young is running for re-election, and Jim Rue Jr. is opposing him. The Herrick American Legion Hall is the polling place.
