Munsen has no comment on probation issue

By The Daily Republic

Gary Munsen declined late Tuesday night to speak about the disciplinary action taken against his program in mid-April.

It was the first contact the Mitchell High School basketball coach has had with The Daily Republic since the story broke, despite numerous attempts by the newspaper to reach him.

Munsen, who called the newspaper about other matters, said he had no comment and declined to discuss the issue further.

The probationary period was enforced by the South Dakota High School Activities Association after an investigation determined Munsen had coached an athlete or athletes out of season, against SDHSAA rules.
