U.S. Highway 83 Traffic Restrictions Lifted

PIERRE – South Dakota Department of Transportation officials are advising U.S. Highway 83 through Pierre and Fort Pierre is no longer restricted to traffic.

PIERRE – South Dakota Department of Transportation officials are advising U.S. Highway 83 through Pierre and Fort Pierre is no longer restricted to traffic.

While Highway 83 was always open to traffic, officials had asked motorists to use others routes during construction of the levees. More recently, traffic was reduced to one lane due to water over the road in Fort Pierre.

Traffic congestion has been eased and there is no longer water over the highway.
