A plan for a clinic and work on a pair of garages are on the agenda for today’s meeting of the Mitchell Planning and Zoning Commission.

Avera Queen of Peace is requesting approval of a plan for a clinic at 200 E. Havens Ave. The area is zoned highway business.

Avera Queen of Peace Health Services announced last week it will open an urgent-care clinic in Mitchell this summer.

Doug and Cindy Symes are seeking a variance to construct a 28-foot by 30-foot garage at 107 S. Harmon Drive. The backyard setback would not be met under the current plan, providing 30 feet instead of the required 35.

James Klinger is requesting a variance for an extension of his garage at 1621 Westview Drive. The sideyard setback would be 2 feet rather than the required 3 under the plan.

The meeting begins at noon at City Hall Council Chambers, 612 N. Main Sat. It is open to the public.
