Pukwana man pleads guilty to sexual abuse

PIERRE — A Pukwana man has pleaded guilty to a sexual abuse charge.

PIERRE — A Pukwana man has pleaded guilty to a sexual abuse charge.

Sonny J. Antelope, 28, entered the plea to abusive sexual contact by force Wednesday in Pierre.

Antelope caused a Pierre woman to engage in sexual contact by using force against her in July 2010.

The maximum penalty for the charge is 10 years in prison.

He was indicted by a federal grand jury in February. The investigation was conducted by the Crow Creek Agency of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

A presentence investigation was ordered. Antelope is scheduled for sentencing on Aug. 15.
