MAC has three win state titles

PIERRE — The Mitchell Aquatic Club had three overall state champions at the state meet, which was held Friday through Sunday in Pierre.

Ethan Huber won the 50-meter backstroke, Tevyn Waddell finished first in the 500-meter freestyle and Rhenetta Bork claimed the 400-meter individual medley championship.

Huber also finished second in the 100 backstroke, the 100 butterfly and the 200 IM. He also posted a third-place finish in the 50 freestyle and took fourth in the 200 freestyle.

Waddell added a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle and the 100 IM, third-place finishes in the 100 freestyle and the 100 freestyle and a fourth-place finish in the 100 backstroke.

Beck claimed second place in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes, fourth-place in the 200 IM and fifth-place in the 500 freestyle.

Reva Bork finished second in the 1,650 freestyle, fourth in the 200 and 500 freestyles and fifth in the 100 freestyle.

Isaac Smith claimed second-place in the 100- and 200 backstrokes, third in the 200 breaststroke and fourth in the 200- and 400 IM and the 100 breaststroke.

Zach Olson had a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke and a fourth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke.

Cailey Scott was third in the 100 butterfly, fourth in the 200 IM and 50 backstroke and fifth in 50 butterfly and the 100 backstroke.

Mackenzie Miller had two third-place finishes for the MAC. She took third in the 50 freestyle and in the 50 backstroke. She also finished fifth in the 200 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke.

Gray Determan had a third-place finish in the 1000 freestyle and a fifth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke.

Quinn Determan was fifth in both the 100- and 200 breaststrokes and Emmie Honerman was fifth in the 50 freestyle.

The boys’ 400-meter freestyle relay team and the 400-meter medley relay team both finished in third place. The teams included Christian Fossum, Chase Stehly, Zach Smith and Gray Determan.

The girls’ 400-meter freestyle relay team and the 400-meter medley relay team both finished third. The team included Kristin Pistulka, Honermann, Abbie Young and Karlie Brown.
