After trailing at halftime, Hanson tied the game in the third quarter and went on to beat top-seeded Mount Vernon 45-40 in a District 10B semifinal Thursday at the Corn Palace.
Both Cassidy Graham and Leah Marsh scored 12 points for Hanson (13-9). Kendra Cheeseman added 11 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for the Beavers and Ashley Robinson grabbed eight rebounds.
Robinson, Hanson’s leading scorer, sustained a head injury in the first half. The injury has not been diagnosed and her status is unknown for Saturday’s game against Mitchell Christian for the District 10B championship, which is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Corn Palace.
Lexi Christensen scored 18 points for Mount Vernon and Shelby Selland had 11 points. Mount Vernon’s season ends with a record of 16-5.

Parkston 57, Bon Homme 46
PARKSTON — Parkston beat Bon Homme 57-46 Thursday in the District 10A championship.
Logan Wagner led Parkston (20-2) with 17 points, Erica Herrold scored 14 points, McKenzie Wiedenbach added 10 points and Jenna Reiser grabbed eight rebounds.
Tara Ronke scored 21 points for Bon Homme and Raquel Sutera scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds.
Parkston plays against either Tri-Valley or West Central in the Region 5A championship Thursday at a site yet to be determined. Bon Homme’s season ends with a 12-10 record.

GREGORY — Winner beat South Central 55-43 in the District 13A championship Thursday.
Sharee Galbraith scored 22 points, grabbed six rebounds and had five steals for Winner (16-6), Kirby Bertram added 17 points and six assists and Tawny Barry chipped in nine points.
Skyler Heyden led South Central with 15 points and Cheyenne Lambley added nine points.
South Central’s season ends with a record of 16-5.
Winner plays for the Region 7A championship against the winner of Bennett County and Little Wound on March 4 in Fort Pierre.

HURON — James Valley Christian beat Woonsocket 62-53 to claim the District 9B championship Thursday.
Tia Nihart hit four 3-pointers and scored 23 points to lead James Valley Christian (16-6) and Sarah Wedel added 13 points.
Emily Olson led Woonsocket with 18 points and six rebounds and Kayla Collins scored 11 points.
James Valley Christian will play the winner of Mitchell Christian and Hanson in the District 10B championship game in the Region 5B championship game March 4 at the Huron Arena.

SCOTLAND — Freeman pulled away in the second half for a 64-49 win over Avon in the semifinals of the District 11B tournament Thursday.
Carly Uecker led Freeman (18-3) with 23 points and Paige Herrbodlt scored 18 points.
Lanae VanGerpen scored 15 points for Avon and Chesney Nagel added 13 points.
Avon’s season ends with a record of 7-14.
Freeman plays Freeman Academy in the District 11B championship at 7 p.m. Saturday in Scotland.

Haley Brunke scored 10 points for Scotland, which season ends with a record of 11-11.

Tricia Wilken scored 10 points for Sunshine Bible Academy. The Crusaders’ season ends with a 7-14 record.

MILLER — Zach Horstman had a big game as the Winner High School boys’ basketball team beat Miller 67-54 Thursday afternoon.
Horstman scored a season-high 28 points to go along with 10 rebounds and six assists.
Winner finishes the regular season with a 17-3 record.

PARKER — Parkston rallied for a 47-42 win in overtime against Parker Thursday.
Parker had a 14-5 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Parkston closed the game to within three at the end of the third quarter before forcing overtime.
Tanner Weber led Parkston with 25 points and Lucas Holden scored 10 points and had seven rebounds.
Parker got 24 points from Ryan Preheim, Cedric Hay scored 10 points and Seth Dykstra grabbed 11 rebounds.
