ALEXANDRIA — Pierce Smith had a triple-double in the Hanson High School boys’ basketball team’s 67-40 win against Freeman on Monday. Smith scored 13 points and had 12 rebounds and 10 assists for Hanson (9-5). Reid Smith led Hanson with 15 points and Jacob Bartscher added 13 points as the Beavers shot 49 percent and forced 19 turnovers. Chet Hermson led Freeman (1-12) with nine points and the Flyers shot 43 percent. PLANKINTON — Woonsocket pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 53-39 win against Plankinton Monday.
Woonsocket (7-9) had a 31-27 lead at the end of the third quarter, but outscored Plankinton (1-16) 22-12 in the fourth quarter.
Eric Warkenthien led Woonsocket with 23 points and seven rebounds and Davion Brooks scored 15 points.
Plankinton got 13 points and eight rebounds from Chance Boyd and 10 points from Kellam Karst.
Woonsocket plays Friday at Sunshine Bible Academy in Miller and Plankinton plays Thursday at home against Mount Vernon.

FREEMAN — Flandreau Indian School had a double-digit lead early in its 62-37 win against Freeman Academy Monday.
Freeman Academy (1-13) got 25 points from Clint Basselman and seven rebounds from Andre Eisenbeis.
Freeman Academy plays Thursday at the Dakota Plains Invitational in Marty against Crow Creek’s junior varsity.

Ben Fischer and Ryan Kirschenman both scored seven points for Menno (3-11).
