Winter weather forced athletic postponements in the area

Winter weather caused many area high school basketball games to be postponed Tuesday night.

The Mitchell Christian boys’ basketball team was scheduled to host Corsica/Stickney, but the game was postponed with no determined makeup date.

Kimball was scheduled to play a doubleheader at Woonsocket Tuesday night, but the two games have been postponed until Feb. 4. Two other doubleheaders, Freeman Academy at Marion and Gayville-Volin at Canistota, have both been postponed. The makeup dates for both doubleheaders have not been determined yet.

In boys’ basketball action, Tripp-Delmont/Armour’s game at Platte-Geddes has been postponed to Friday and will be part of a doubleheader. The boys’ game will start at 6:30 p.m. and the girls’ game will start at 8 p.m. South Central was scheduled to host Wagner Tuesday, but the game has been moved to Jan. 21.

Bon Homme’s game at Vermillion has been postponed until Jan. 24. Freeman was scheduled to host Parkston, but the game was moved to Feb. 12. Bridgewater-Emery’s game at Ethan has been postponed until Feb. 14.

Other boys’ basketball games that were scheduled for Tuesday night that have been postponed include White Lake at Wessington Springs and Andes Central at Dakota Christian. No makeup dates have been determined for either game.

In girls’ action, Bon Homme was supposed to host South Central Tuesday night, but the game has been moved to Feb. 8 as part of a boys-girls doubleheader. Gregory’s game against Wagner has been postponed until Feb. 7.

Other girls’ games that were postponed and have no makeup dates include Wessington Springs at Hitchcock-Tulare and Hanson at McCook Central/Montrose.

Burke/Gregory’s wrestling match against Chamberlain is postponed to 6 p.m. on Jan. 20. Marion/Freeman’s wrestling triangular has been canceled.
