Boys' Parkston Classic postponed

PARKSTON — The boys’ Parkston Classic basketball event for today has been postponed, Parkston Athletic Director Rob VanLaecken said this morning.

VanLaecken said inclement weather in the northeastern part of the state forced some teams to stay at home.

“We have two teams that weren’t going to come and two that were hesitant to drive in this weather,” he said. “We would have had just a hole in our schedule that it wouldn’t have worked. We made the deci-sion because of the weather.”

VanLaecken said a tentative make up date is Jan. 29. He said the schedule is likely to remain relatively close to the original, but one non-Mitchell area team has a scheduling conflict.

The inaugural Mike Miller Classic event is still scheduled as planned today at the Corn Palace.
