HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Emily Olson sets school record in Woonsocket's girls' basketball team's win over Kimball

PLANKINTON — Emily Olson scored 21 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Woonsocket High School girls’ basketball team to a 53-37 win over Kimball at a holiday classic on Wednesday afternoon.

Olson now has made a school-record 104 3-pointers in her career. She had tied the previous record of 99 in the Redmen’s previous game.

Melissa Weber scored 10 points and had seven rebounds for the Redmen, who are 3-1 and face South Central today in Kimball.

Rachel Gaulke had 14 points and five steals to lead the Kiotes, who are 0-6 and face Plankinton today in Kimball.

South Central 51, Plankinton 41

PLANKINTON — Skyler Heyden scored 15 points to lead South Central to a 51-41 win over Plankinton at a holiday classic on Wednesday afternoon.

The Cougars won despite committing 26 turnovers in the game.

South Central is 5-1 and faces Woonsocket today in Kimball.

Plankinton’s Ellen Bucher had 20 points and seven rebounds. The Pirates are 3-2 and is at Kimball today.

CROFTON, Neb. — Tara Ronke had 16 points and Rachelle Sutera added 15 as Bon Homme beat Norfolk (Neb.) JV 41-33 in the third-place game of the Croften Holiday Tournament on Wednesday.

Kimball 45, Plankinton 37

PLANKINTON — Jesse Taylor’s 12 points and 12 rebounds helped get Kimball past Plankinton 45-37 at a holiday classic on Wednesday afternoon.

Trevor Reinesch had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Kiotes, who are 1-4 and host Woonsocket today.

Colin Spinar scored 14 points to lead the Pirates, who are 0-4 and play Andes Central today in Kimball.

PLANKINTON — Eric Warkenthien had 26 points and 13 rebounds as Woonsocket beat Andes Central 51-32 at a holiday classic on Wednesday afternoon.

Justin Davis chipped in 10 points and Tyler Krueger added nine for the Redmen, who are 3-1 and are at Kimball today.

Gabe Cournoyer and Grant Petrik each scored 12 points to pace the Eagles, who are 0-4 and face Plankinton today in Kimball.
