A Mitchell man pleaded guilty this month to selling his prescription medication.

Damien Lee Chandler, 30, pleaded guilty on Nov. 23 to selling methylphenidate, often referred to as Ritalin, to a confidential informant on July 30, 2010.

“I sold some pills for money for food,” Chandler told Judge Tim Bjorkman.

Doug Papendick, Chandler’s attorney, told Bjorkman that a plea agreement had been reached with the state. In return for a guilty plea, the state will recommend the mandatory minimum penalty of one year in jail.

Bjorkman ordered a presentence investigation and set sentencing for Jan. 4.
