Grand Valley State at Augustana

SIOUX FALLS — No. 2 seed Augustana hosts No. 3 seed Grand Valley State at 12 p.m. today at Kirkeby-Over Stadium in the NCAA Division II playoffs.

Augustana (10-1) plays its first playoff game in more than 20 years. It’s the first time the Vikings have ever hosted a playoff game. In 1988 and 1989, Augustana — which is unbeatend at home this year — made its only two appearances in the playoffs. It lost both games.

Grand Valley State (11-1) won national championships in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006. It’s 75-5 overall since 2005. It defeated Colorado Mines last week in the first round of the playoffs.

This is the first-ever meeting between these two teams. The game is being broadcast on Midcontinent channel 26.
