The Howard High School and McCook Central/Montrose football teams were honored on Tuesday when the Big East Conference awards were announced.
Howard had four athletes on the all-conference team in Alan Kramer, Derek Genzlinger, Cody Torkelson and Aaron Jacobson, all of whom are seniors. Howard’s Cole Potter, Evan Donahue and Lucas Hattervig were honorable mentions.
For MC/M, Matt Nelson Jordan Wolf and Dominic Blindert were honored. Andy Kappenman, Tate Scotting and Cody Hansen were given honorable-mention status.
Big East volleyball honors released

The McCook Central/Montrose volleyball team had a pair of athletes honored on the Big East Conference’s postseason awards list, announced Tuesday.
Chelsea Hiemstra and Karen Knudsen, both seniors, were named to the team. Hiemstra is an outside hitter while Knudsen plays libero. Teammates Kelly Binder and Steph Heumiller were on the honorable-mention list.
Howard senior middle hitter Haley Clark was also on the team. She was joined by Danielle Dornbusch, who was an honorable mention.
Winner has trio of girls on BDC team

The Big Dakota Conference volleyball team was announced on Tuesday with Winner and Miller each having three girls named to the all-conference team.
Winner seniors Kelli Norrid, Sharee Gilbraith and Kirby Bertram picked up honors for the Warriors.
Miller also had three seniors on the list in Dana Fanning, Kelsey Hunter and Kate Hamiel.
Chambeerlain sophomore Jaymee Knippling was the only underclassman on the list.
